Using the right thread is essential when you are sewing or knitting. The color of the thread should match or have similar shade to the dominant color in the fabric. If you are sewing with fabrics that do not stretch much, cotton thread is recommended. Polyester threads suit sewing projects that use synthetic fabrics or fabrics that stretch. Cotton wrapped polyester threads are labeled as "all-purpose" and are commonly used for most fabrics. Use silk threads for delicate fabrics thanks to its increased elasticity.
